Years ago as a young man I started out as a salesperson selling power washers and steam cleaners. The company that I worked for also had a service that cleaned restaurant hoods and ductwork. What’s amazing is that they would go out in the evening and stick $500 in their pocket for a night’s work and that was 30 years ago. I never really thought about that end of the business because I was on the sales side and even though I was very successful I couldn’t stick $500 in my pocket with a day’s work. Now that I look back with a little more knowledge, I wonder if I was working in the wrong department.

The work involved took some elbow grease but it wasn’t murder and you work nights mainly which lets you enjoy your days and allow you to pursue your golf game. They would go out in the evening with power washing equipment some wet backs, some soap and chemicals service the customer and be done in no time. The cool thing about this was restaurant had to use the service was no way around it. The laws dictate that the hoods had to be cleaned on a regular basis and once you lined up the clients all you had to do were service them in the money rolled in.
